Azura is the Daedric prince whose sphere is dusk and dawn, the magic in-between realms of twilight. She is also known as Mother of the Rose, Queen of the Night Sky, and the Anticipation of Sotha Sil. Azura is often associated with the artifact, Azura's Star, a reusable soul gem. Azura is one of the few Daedra who could be considered "good" by mortal standards, and is presumably the only Daedra that shows any concern for the well-being of her mortal subjects, as is evidenced in books such as Invocation of Azura.
Moonshadow is Azura's plane of Oblivion, where she lives in a rose palace. According to The Doors of Oblivion, it is blindingly beautiful and colorful, with flowers, waterfalls, trees, and a city of silver.
Azura was the god-ancestor that taught the Chimer the mysteries needed to be different from the Altmer. Some of her more conventional teachings are sometimes attributed to Boethiah. In the stories, Azura is often more a communal cosmic force for the race as a whole than an ancestor or a god.
Azura told Nerevar that Dagoth Ur's knowledge of the Heart of Lorkhan was accurate. This caused a war with the Dwemer (whose king denied knowledge of the Heart, although he only denied it due to lack of his own personal knowledge of the subject), from which Nerevar emerged the victor and the Dwemer did not emerge at all. Later, when the Tribunal of Vivec, Almalexia and Sotha Sil murdered Nerevar and positioned themselves as superior new gods to the old Daedra, Azura cursed the Chimer (Caused their skin to become a dark blackish color and eyes red, thus making them Dunmer, or Dark Elves) and claimed that she would cause Nerevar to be reborn and that he would make things right again. Later, Azura aided the Nerevarine in defeating Dagoth Ur and toppling the Tribunal Temple (due to the differing accounts, told by various factions and individuals in Morrowind, note that this should be taken with a grain of salt). Though never obviously deceitful, how she always gets what she desires in the end can be portrayed as disturbing .
In Elsweyr, Azura is perceived as nearly a wholly separate entity, known locally as Azurah. She is credited with making the Khajiit out of the Bosmer stock in Elsweyr.
In Daggerfall, she is an enemy of Ebonarm and Nocturnal. She is alligned with Molag Bal and may be summoned on Hogithum.
Azura's Star has appeared in many of the Elder Scrolls games. The Hero of Daggerfall summoned Azura on a certain Hogithum (Azura's summoning date on 21 First Seed is called "Hogithum") and was asked by her to assassinate a priest who had been denigrating her. The hero did as he was asked, and as a reward he received Azura's Star from a priest of Azura. In Morrowind, the Nerevarine summoned Azura in her shrine in Azura's Coast, Vvardenfell, and was asked by her to go to a small island in the Sheogorad Region and eliminate Sheogorath's Daedra, which the Mad Lord had assigned with the task of "disturbing" Rayna Drolan, a priestess of Azura. Also, the Nerevarine had to bring back a proof of Sheogorath's involvement. The Nerevarine did exactly as Azura asked, and in the end, was awarded Azura's Star by her. In Oblivion, Azura's Star was given as a reward if the main character released the souls of five of Azura's worshippers who many years ago had sealed themselves into a mine, thus preventing the spread of vampirism after they had been infected by a vampire lord.
