†Appearance:
Loras is tall and has a slim build due to his incredibly high levels of metabolism that enable him to eat and train as much as he possibly can and still not gain a great deal of weight. He has an incredibly low level of fat in his body due to this. As with many other mer or men his age this metabolism may slow down in time but this remains yet to be seen. Above this slender build, though, he does have toned and defined muscles along his chest, stomach, back and arms, more from his lifestyle and the strenuous training he has been placed under since just a child. They are strong, but not overly large or intimidating. His skin is very pale, nearly to the point of being white and though it sunburns easily it does not freckle or tan after the burns have blistered and peeled. The pale skin has been with him his entire life, and it seems no amount of sunlight seems to change it. He has vividly pale blue eyes that can range from a light, charming hue to a deeper, disconcerting and dangerous appearance. His hair is a light brown that has been sun bleached to the point where parts of it almost look platinum. Loras styles his hair before meeting new people in an obsessive, highly vain manner which he is careful not to show to other people. Loras’ narrow face and high jawline, along with his pale skin and slender frame make him appear younger than he is. He can manipulate this when he wants to be underestimated, but must rely on his charm to be respected by older, more arrogant adults in societies around him. He has medium sized lips, without them being identifiably too large or thin and a small, relatively pointed nose. Loras is rarely seen in too common clothes, and prefers darker mid-thigh length coats, his favourite of being in a black and gold colour, giving him a contemporary look in social situations. He hopes that by dressing as well as he does he will appear older, as all of his clothes are fitted to his body proportions. Loras gladly wears these clothes into any social circle, often reveling in the attention it can call to him.
†Guild:
Due to Loras only recently travelling to Cyrodiil he has not yet joined any of the guilds there, though, social climber that he is, it’s to be expected he wouldn’t shy from the majority of them.

†Personality:
Loras is the heir to the throne of the Ayleids, the near extinct race of Heartland High Elves forced from Cyrodiil millennia ago. Loras has been granted access back to Cyrodiil (as Ayleids rarely do at the present date due to the lack of any surviving settlements outside of Valenwood, where they were exiled to). There are only a handful of Ayleid families that exist anymore that are of ‘untarnished’ blood – meaning their families have not at any point interbred with the Wood Elves of Valenwood or Imperials back under the Alessian Order. Loras is of one family, which traces back to the last King of White Gold Tower before the Alessian Order began. The combination of Loras’ high position in his community and his ‘untarnished’ state, coupled with his natural skills explained below, make Loras well off, gifted, but most incredibly arrogant. Though he is careful to hide this arrogance when speaking to other people, Loras is, in his own mind and to those that know him well enough, prejudiced, proud and self-righteous; qualities, it seems, passed down from generation to generation of untarnished heirs to the Ayleid throne.
However, Loras is also a heavily emotional and passionate person, but to the outward person these emotions would never be known. Indeed they could think of him as more a piece of carved stone than any living soul as he has difficulties sharing, or even showing these emotions. He has a way of keeping his face completely void of emotion when negotiating or debating, this lack of shown emotion can be very unnerving for other people around.
Loras has a long memory and holds grudges for long times, seeking revenge in any situation when he has been slighted. This revenge can span from simple petty jokes to high scale attacks and murder. He is incredibly proud, almost to a ridiculous level, and many statements that for all intent may have been harmless Shad can see as a slight.
He is very perceptive on the emotions and actions of others around him, and with this ability he can either manipulate or sting a person by using only simple words he knows will go down well or horrifically insult.
In this way, Loras is incredibly intelligent, cunning, plotting, manipulative and conniving. He does not see people in the forms of friendships or relationships but in the form of possessions and tools for his ultimate goals. This makes him incredibly disloyal when it comes to other people and their aims if it differs from his own. Although he remains forever true to his Ayleid community, values, and goals, in Cyrodiil and among other races and social circles he is a wanderer, aligning himself with whoever will serve his purposes best at that point in time and becoming traitorous when other alignments have better offers.
When Loras himself has seen, though his own manipulations of others, the backfiring that trusting someone can have against you, it makes it extremely difficult for him to trust anyone. For this reason, Loras is reserved in his true thoughts and judgments with even those who have known him in his community his entire life. If any other people, well-meaning as their intentions might be, try to invade Loras’ deeper, most private thoughts he can react aggressively with poisonous words, or perhaps even, should the feelings being invaded be that bit stronger, physical violence.
Loras represents the shift in the mindset and tactics of the Ayleids. Where once they were obsessed with destruction magic, war making, and slave trading, their defeat and years of struggle against extinction have caused them to adopt the more Imperialistic traits of deceit, lies, subtle murder, betrayal, charm and manipulation against their enemies (though they are still trained in war, and many still follow mage paths).
Loras is strong-willed and is wary of being controlled by others. He is determined and once his mind is made up on a target he rarely just ‘lets go,’ even if he has to reach the target in a more roundabout approach. This leads to his exceedingly stubborn attitude. In this nature that dictates such a wariness of being controlled, Loras himself has become very controlling of other people and objects such as conversations. With this controlling attitude, people are often expendable to him in his way of reaching his goal.
Loras always has his own agenda, and works tirelessly to reach it. While on the road to these desires, Loras cares little about other people or agendas that get in his way, he will personally see to it that they aren’t standing in his way for long. He is not against getting his hands dirty for what he perceives to be his own good.
Loras is cold and cruel, sometimes appearing noble and powerful in his deeds and other times showing and power-hungry and greedy nature with little abandon for anyone but himself. When Loras is not reaching his goals is when he is at his most dangerous.
However, despite this he also has a very philosophical nature and reflects a lot on situations and people, if not from a selfish point of view. He is a detail-orientated person, the type of person that rights crooked pictures for no real reason other than the fact that it’s just right that way.
Loras can easily become jealous and possessive of other people or their/his own items. He is never adverse to manipulating people to get what he wants. It is actually one of his greatest personality traits. His perception makes him incredibly charming and outwardly friendly. People are easily drawn to his dark, mysterious nature and from this attraction Loras twists the people who view him as friends until he controls them and they bow to his bidding, perhaps without even knowing it. He is not adverse to using any method to gain puppets, whether it be through means of charming them, befriending them, doing a deed for them – as long as he sees an upside for himself in the deed, or having wooing them to sex, regardless of their gender if it suits his goal. He uses growing numbers of alliances with people to climb higher in societies, giving him more control to use for his own bidding. People don’t see the more manipulative and arrogant side of him, as he is very efficient at working that half of his personality in shadows and is perceptive enough of those around him to only show a much more charming, pleasant side.
His ultimate driving passion, despite what everything might seem, and even above his desperate want to rule over Cyrodiil once more, is a deep-felt compulsive need to know. Some part of him needs to know everything, how everything works, how people act and react, what controls life, and how that thing itself can be controlled. Through this needing to know, Loras has become intelligent and a centre of common knowledge. If he doesn’t know something, he finds out.
If Loras was to ever express his truest fears (not that he ever would of course, as his pride prevents it) it would be having no control and power. To Loras, losing power over people and situations and losing knowledge is a very daunting and sickening notion.
Loras’ star sign is the Lover, giving him increased charm and high levels of sexual attraction from any person, either gender, interested in him romantically. Despite Loras’ arrogance, he answers to Daedric Princes, and they are perhaps the only beings that Loras recognises are higher or more powerful than he himself. In particular Loras prays particularly to Meridia, as she is guardian over the Ayleids and Aurorans, Hermaeus Mora, for he has all knowledge, and Mephala, for Loras believes she can empower his webs of deceit and betrayal.
In Short
Passionate and yet stony featured; Grudging and vengeful; Proud and arrogant; Determined and stubborn; Perceptive and manipulative; Intelligent; Cunning; Plotting; Conniving; Disloyal; Traitourous and Mutinous; Untrusting and Alone; Controlling and Power-Hungry; Cold; Cruel; Jealous and Possessive;
And yet charming - almost irresistibly - with a dark, mysterious and attractive nature and on a never-ending mission to know everything that he possibly can, control everything that can be controlled and even those which perhaps cannot, and be remembered in the long ages after he is gone.
†Weapon(s):
Loras has a long sword at his disposal. It is perfectly balanced and amazingly well crafted by the best (and most expensive) craftsmen of Valenswood. Due to its light, thin frame it is well suited to Loras’ body type and a fancier, parry-away and stab form of swordplay than thicker broadswords. It is still strong, but Loras relies more on its speed. His other, more favoured weapon however is a long knife. It is an heirloom, passed to him from his mother, though it was given to her by his father before he left, as it comes from his family line. The hand crafted hilt is both practical and eye-catchingly detailed, suiting Loras perfectly. His sword is simply for battle, therefore Loras does not commonly concern himself with it in day to day activities and outside of the battlefield will more often use his knife for its subtlety.
†Power/s:
- Summon Auroran – This is Loras’ only real power of conjuration and it is simply to summon an Auroran from Meridia’s plane of Oblivion. It it highly fatiguing so Loras does not often use it.
- Low level shock spells (taught to him by his mother, a high level mage of his community)
†Weaknesses:
- His copious arrogance
- His pride/hubris
- His stubborn nature in pursuing his own ends
- His overconfidence in his own abilities
- His untrusting and often blindly grudging nature
†Talent/s:
- Speechcraft – Master
- Acrobatics - Expert
- Blade - Expert
- Sneak - Expert
- Illusion – Journeyman
- Destruction – Journeyman
- Alchemy – Journeyman
- Security - Journeyman
- Conjuration – Apprentice

†History:
Loras was born in Valenwood - where the Ayleids were exiled to long ago – in a small community of ‘untarnished’ Ayleids.
From the time that he could walk, it seemed, Loras was being taught how to run, how to skip, how to leap, jump, dance. He was taught as much as the community could teach him. Writing, reading, worship, healing, magicka, swordplay, philosophy, every elf her knew was at some stage his teacher. They all knew that he was going to be the heir who would return to Cyrodiil, for during the times during and after the attacks of Mehrunes Dagon, the Imperial reign would be at its weakest. It was the perfect time for the Ayleids to reclaim the land that was theirs so long ago.
So, Loras grew up with a community of elves believing themselves of a greater purpose, or on a greater quest, than the rest of the world, and of these elves, he was the most doted upon. It was never going to be a surprise that the arrogance of the community would be reflected in Loras.
He, however, learned the greatest of all lessons from his father.
Amal Voranil taught Loras the arts of manipulation, of deceit, and of betrayal. He taught Loras the way to talk to people, woo people, charm people. Most of all, he taught Loras how to hide his arrogance, how to master speechcraft and negotiation, how to make friends and lovers as easily as any man can put one foot in front of the other, and how to manipulate them. The lesson that Amal never taught Loras - for perhaps Amal didn’t himself know - was how to be a friend in return, underneath the words.
Around the age of eighteen, Loras’ father began to see his true nature. The lessons he had taught him about manipulation and speechcraft were far daunted by Loras’ own natural abilities for perception of others and his easy leaning towards paths of betrayal, and this was encouraged.
What Amal never knew, though, was just how deep Loras’ emotions travelled, for Loras’ had learnt well how to hide them. His deeply philosophical, emotive and knowledge hungry nature would never be encouraged, for such things were doorways into forming attachments and bonds, and that would ruin everything.
At the age of twenty three, Amal deemed Loras ready to travel to Cyrodiil. Not to take over immediately, for that was not Loras’ style, of course, but to learn everything he could, make connections and search for Ayleid artifacts. All of these things would help Loras to claim the throne that he by now believed belonged to him.
So began his journey into Cyrodiil.
†RP Sample:
Loras finally reached the top of the hill and pulled his horse back slightly on his reins. He was a well trained horse and it didn’t take a great deal of force from Loras for him to register the command and come to a halt.
For a long time, Loras said nothing, did nothing, saw nothing else. His muscles were so still that a traveler could have mistaken him for painted stone save that the wind blowing from the lake he remembered to be called Rumare pulled at his hair slightly, shifting it and teasing it, dancing with individual strands and lightly pulling on his clothes. Tugging them. Drawing Loras back. He hardly noticed. His pale blue eyes were wide and his heart was fluttering in his chest madly, though he wouldn’t have looked it. He had never imagined it would look so beautiful.
He had passed Ayleid ruins on his journey to the Imperial City, of course, but those were, when all was said and done
(broken)
just ruins, really. They still withheld magic, and traps, and perhaps some artifacts in their underground levels, but the surface levels of what must have been grand white cities were gone now.
White Gold Tower was another league of its own, though.
His mother had described it to him, but even she had only seen pictures drawn in books, and could only go on what her grandfather had told her, he being the last Ayleid to have seen what the new – for in the long, Daedric, scheme, men were still new – residents of Cyrodiil so horrifically called the Imperial City. None of her descriptions came even close.
The way the platinum tower shown in the midday light . . . it was so bright, like the millennia had not even dirtied it. The deep blue of the lake and pale blue of the sky seemed to reflect in the stones of the walls around the city.
So this is what it was like once. Loras couldn’t help but imagine himself sitting on a throne inside that tower, in a room high enough to see all around the city.
My domain. My kingdom.
The word never lost its sweet taste in his mouth.
It was so close, Loras could almost taste it, but at the same time it was so far. Even without an Emperor, it was going to be difficult for Loras to climb the social ladder high enough to begin planting his seeds that would grow into his crown. He welcomed the challenge, and a sly smile twitched at the corners of his lips, making him look younger, like a teenager about to get what he wanted from tiresome parents.
Then it was gone, and he was still sitting exactly where he had been before. How long had he been standing there? The horse whickered at him; evidently a while.
Loras clicked his tongue and nudged the horse with his boots just slightly and he was moving again. Through the whole ride up to the city, Loras could not keep his eyes away from that
(his)
tower, and his heart from thumping so loudly he was sure every traveler he passed would hear it.
It was so close.[/blockquote][/size]
OOC: Soz about that RP sample. It's getting a bit late here but I really wanted to finish before going to sleep.
