– M’aiq the Liar –
“May you trip on warm sands.”
Name: M’aiq the Liar.
Age: Unknown, but he appears to be in his mid/late 30’s.
Race: Khajiit.
Birthsign: The Thief.
Hair: M’aiq has plain ol’ short, Khajiit hair. It’s a nice, deep golden color. M’aiq would say that its color closely resembles that of a freshly baked sweetroll. It ranges from dark to light in different areas of his body. He keeps himself pretty well groomed—well, y’know, for typical Khajiit standards.
Eyes: He has fierce yet shifty yellow-green, catlike eyes. They’re good for lying and for being…shifty.
Guild/Faction: M’aiq has no known guild affiliations…yet.
Appearance: He’s a fairly fit Khajiit, thanks to his constant travels, though one who’s not a beast of strength. He’s neither stunted vertically nor towering by any means. He’s got a pretty average body type. M’aiq also looks like your average, everyday Khajiit—shifty eyes included. Nothing too outstanding about him appearance-wise.
Clothes: M’aiq is typically seen in a blue robe. It’s rather beaten and worn out from his constant travels, but he’s quite fond of it. He wears basic sandals. They are just as weathered as his robe. The one thing that he has which is in perfect condition is his Colovian fur helm. If it were legal, M’aiq would perhaps marry the helm. Lastly, he has a thin, leather belt around his robe from which his iron mace hangs and also a small bag whose contents are unknown.
Personality: M’aiq is a sarcastic Khajiit who speaks his mind. He is as blunt as he is witty. He doesn’t usually speak until spoken to. He has the compulsive and neurotic habit of stealing calipers, a habit which possibly cannot be helped. He’s a slight sugar tooth, but it’s an addiction he keeps well under control. He is definitely one of his own stride. He has a firm distrust in humans and a natural opposition toward Argonians. He also has strong arachnophobia. Beware of that.
Likes: Calipers, Skooma, thievery, general discord (caused by himself), the demeaning and belittling of other races, lying, making up stories, misguiding lost adventurers, and not being bothered.
Dislikes: Argonians, humans, Bosmer, other races that aren’t Khajiit, SPIDERS, Mead, having to do stuff, and the Imperials with the steel britches (guards).
Favorite Food: M’aiq. Loves. Fishy Sticks. Period.
Favorite Drink: M’aiq enjoys Skooma above all. However, he’s a Khajiit who knows his way around alcohol, too. He may not like humans very much, but he does admit to their brandy-making skills, as he has a great liking towards Cyrodillic Brandy for reasons unknown.
Weapon: Claws, wit, and a stolen steel mace, which is mostly for show.
Powers: M’aiq is exceptionally charismatic and witty for a Khajiit, and his specialty is in the art of story fabrication. His magicka stats are thus: Journeyman of Alteration, Journeyman of Illusion, Apprentice of Mysticism and Apprentice of Restoration. He has little to no skill in Alchemy and Destruction. He also just recently learned how to read and write.
Friends: M’aiq needs not any friends.
Girl/Boyfriend: M’aiq has no such mates.
Family: M’aiq has family. Does he speak with them? No, he does not.
Animal Companion: A donkey named Jobasha.
Residence: M’aiq has no place of residence, but he wanders, occasionally sleeping in random barns if he has to. He knows how to live off the land—or whatever’s in strangers’ pockets—well enough to get by.
History: From birth, M’aiq lived in a bustling household in the province of Elsweyr. With six other siblings, he learned to live for himself quickly. M’aiq’s distrust in humans evolved from never having even seen a one until he’d aged a full 17 seasons; his world had only consisted of Khajiits and a few Argonians. He’d left his home at 17 to venture into the world. He remained alone as he wandered through the provinces of Elsweyr, Cyrodiil, Argonia, Morrowind, and finally back to Cyrodiil, meeting many a soul along the way.
He has at least one known account of murder on his name. It is a murder that went unnoticed and uncared about for the most part. While M’aiq lived as a hermit on an island north of Vvardenfell, a strange man with a new type of food had sailed to his island, one named Captain Fishy. He offered the Khajiit some of his vittles, which were a vile type of seafood, which he called a “Fishy Stick”. Despite its pungent smell, the food was undeniably delicious, so delicious, in fact, that M’aiq became fully addicted. When he’d emptied the man’s inventory clean of all Fishy Sticks, M’aiq snapped. He strangled the man with the line from his fishing pole. He is also indirectly involved with the attempted suicide of a troll bridge and the assault of Anvil noble Heinrich Oaken-Hull.
M’aiq neither denies nor admits any of these allegations. One thing is certain though. M’aiq knows much and tells some.
Portrait: Here’s a portrait of M’aiq the Liar. The artist of this portrait was Modryn Oreyn (click for full size):
[Note: I've always RP'ed with M'aiq having a donkey named Jobasha because I love the irony. Donkeys, of course, aren't in-game, and if this isn't a desired trait, I will certainly change accordingly. Just let me know.]
