It was a hot summer day, though not the hottest day of the year most likely one of them, the imperial city lacked in proper cooling, the sun merely bounced off the brick and slab roads and buildings blinding someone. Most people were indoors of flocking to the shade and shadows, even a member of the Dark Brotherhood would most likely take off their black clothes and stay indoors. But here she was anyway, to visit the chapel, there the Dragon Fires should be aflame but without a emperor in the throne the chapel would be rather bare and empty most likely without any visitors.
Balsa retired the group protecting the emperor known as the ‘Blades’ a long time ago, and spent her time as she wanted, by her rules, of course thankfully she was over all a good natured woman. though her blunt ways and quick ways to acting to something often caused people to back off quickly. He came to pay her respects simple as that, perhaps over all it was meaningless but she thought it was alright, her Altmer friend whom was always by her side stayed close as always however sent to take care of their horses at the time being, she almost missed the elf already. She chuckled whipping the sweat from her brow a small pack over her shoulder as she pushed open the large wooden door and stepped though closing it.
However she was wrong before there were people here, a few kids actually mid teens almost one of every race or at least one humanoid, elf and east beast.. At first she was fine she didn’t mind kids, namely elves and half elves thank the nine she wasn’t actually thinking about eating them when she said she could ‘eat them up’ however upon close inspection they were giggling and laughing, which was also fine till she saw one spit on the alter. She slowly dropped her back, before they even noticed her she was upon them. “kid!” she hissed eyes still calm though. “clean that mess up now before I go find your parents” she stated. Sure they didn’t have to believe in anything the church was about but this one protected the whole world when lit, and a brat would disrespect it knowing that!? They were old enough she knew that’s why she stepped in.
The kids just looked at her some brows razed others giggled silently. “what of it old lady?” the spitter huffed, and coughed then spat again. Balsa sucked in a deep breath and shook her head. “kid, ill bend you over my own knee and beat your butt, so please clean it up darling” she told the male. He only laughed and acted as if he was going to spit again, suddenly she reached over and one easy yank she tore the male’s sleeve off and bent down and cleaned the spit off while the male stood there in shock. “You tore my shirt!” he cried looking at his sleeve and her. Balsa smiled and hung it over his shoulder. “thanks kid, now why don’t you and your buddies get on out of here” she nodded towards the door and picked up her back again, they just glared now muttering amongst themselves.
“what is an old hag going to do about it!?” Balsa stopped in her tracks, and dropped her pack again she walked towards the male. “sorry, repeat that?” she asked politely. “H-A-G, you older then my mother!” the kids giggled. Balsa sucked in a deep breath. “anything else?” she asked warmly. The male laughed and spat on the alter again.
All it took was one solid yank she yanked the male forward and bent him over her knee, strong for a ‘old lady’ they had no idea whom she was. She razed one hand high the other holding the squirming and screaming child. And brought her hand down but right before it made contact she stopped and smiled at him slyly. “what is wrong she asked?” the male wiggled trying to get away after the shock of thinking he was about to be hit. She looked at the others just staring. “let me go you old--” the next words out of the male’s mouth narrowed Balsa’s eyes…..not many people called her by that name and lived to speak about it, she would kill this kid, and she would enjoy her time here….she threw the kid over one shoulder and held his legs still as he kicked and cried, his friends scattered as they exit the building a few guards rushed over she shoved past them mere confusion their faces.
“if you want to arrest me hold your tongue just a moment, this kid has a foul mouth needs punishment, id feed him to the slaughter fish but then that would be murder wouldn’t it? Plus I wouldn’t hurt a kid” she laughed. The kid kept shouting, her years of training she was well able to hang onto him regardless. His day ended when she took his sleeve again, saying she was going to clean up his mess that in the temple with it again, before giving him a good toss into the pig pin outside the city. Safe to say that boy’s day was something he’d think upon later.
She headed back to the temple wondering if her bad was still there, when she saw her comrade, the tall elf with the long dark hair and smiled warmly brushing hers back. She walked over taking her back. “thank you darling” she smiled, she just called him that, amongst other things.. So her day so far consisted of, nearly getting robbed, she darn near ripped the guys arm off. And tossing a kid into a pin that matched his dirty mouth. Well she was getting a lot done today she was! And still had half a day for more!
She reached into the pack and brought out two glasses and a bottle of expensive whine. She popped the cork and poured her and her Elven friend some, before pouring some over the alter with a small smile. “well in hopes that someone is still looking over us from somewhere. And that the lives of everyone……live on to be much longer” she smiled warmly before taking a sip.
