((Yes, this is my example roleplay from Lettie's character sheet))
It was about an hour before sunrise, and the moon was almost full. Its silvery light reflected off the waters of Lake Rumare, lapping up against the shore of the huge Island on which the Imperial city was built. Tucked away, hidden by the huge wall encircling the docks, the decrepit shacks of the Waterfront huddled. Laid carefully to avoid the holes in the ceiling, Lettie stared up at the worm eaten wood above her.
She had been woken by a scratching which she was sure was a rat. Listening carefully, she heard the scratching again, and sat up to look for the vermin responsible. To her horror, she saw the thing creeping towards the sleeping bundle that was her younger brother, Theo. No longer caring about the other’s dozing in the direct vicinity, she shrieked with rage and swatted at it with the closest shoe. But the shoe she’d grabbed didn’t have a proper sole to it, and did nothing but annoy it. So she grabbed the mumbling Theo and dumped him on her bedroll before grabbing her knife and killed the rodent with one strike.
Her two older brothers, and a Bosmer who also used the shack, bemoaning her for disturbing their sleep. “Jus’ a rat,” she explained simply, approaching the dead thing. Grimacing at the stink of blood in its fur, she took the body by the tail and dropped it in a barrel to be skinned sometime later. You couldn’t eat rat meat, but the blokes up at the Arcane University used it in their potions apparently.
Theo sniffled from the bedroll, reminding her of his presence. From experience, she knew he’d stay awake now he’d been woken “You ok?” she whispered, crawling over to him. “It’s alright, it’s dead.” she said reassuringly.
When she was still met with a pout, she said “Come on, we’ll go for a walk.” She hefted him up onto her hip – gods, he was getting heavy, that’d be the Nord in him – she walked him along the shore line, pretending to drop him and making him giggle. Though she moaned about being the one to take him on walks in the early hours, she actually quite enjoyed walking barefoot in the surf, seeing the world calm before the busy day began.

Luther was a easy going man easy life, unless like some, considered being a blacksmith hard, he enjoyed it, and took it easy nearly all the time, why the man who had spent most his days in Anvil come to the city? Simple his boss sent him away, supposedly to find a place where Luke could get himself a really good job fixing things and etc.
He easily found out even for a Imperial, he disliked the city, it was to big, crowded and smelly. So he’d gotten up early, and headed out of the city and found himself in the waterfront district. Kept a eye out for mud crabs and plopped himself down right in the sand just out of reach of the water. He folded his legs under him and watched the water moving and rippling, along with the sounds of nature. A peaceful time indeed. He knew thieves liked this part of town, or perhaps living here was the reason they became thieves. He left his valuables at home anyway. He ruffled his messy hair some then fell back laying on the sand looking up at the stars that would soon no longer be visible. His green eyes stayed locked onto the abyss above, and his tan skin almost matched the sand below him.
He didn’t care for much else right now. So slowly closed his eyes and drifted into a slumber on the cool sands of the bay. Like Luke, it wasn’t like him to think about what people could think or even do to him. From someone thinking he washed up shore to someone killing him while he was sleeping. Luke didn’t trouble himself with things light that, maybe he should though. He had a pulse he was fine. And he slumbered for a little while before he started to wake again hearing someone, or someones nearby, giving a light shrug he folded his arms behind his head for a pillow and closed his eyes to relax again.

It was Theo who spotted the Luke first. Lettie had been looking out over Lake Rumare, where she could see the moon’s light reflecting off the metal on the Shrine of Julianos. Then Theo said in her ear “I’s a man.”
Looking up, Lettie at first assumed the recumbent figure was some unfortunate person who, having been attacked, was either unconscious or dead. Surprisingly enough, people generally didn’t get mugged on the Waterfront, since most of the thieves in the area were part of the guild, and so were unwilling to risk killing someone and having to pay Armand a blood price.
However, people did get into fights, especially in the small hours when people were making their way home from the pubs. But seeing the man moved to place his arms round his head, Lettie realised her previous assumptions had been false. He wasn’t dead, or unconscious. Just, for some reason, sleeping by the lake.
Walking over, still encumbered by the half-Nord boy on her hip, she peered down at the man. She hadn’t seen him before. Possibly a sailor, and if so probably drunk. She prodded him in the ribs with her foot, not trying to hurt him but not really caring about being gentle.

Ah that breeze felt so good on his skin, he was thinking this as he felt a ‘thump’ to his side. His green eyes popped open to look to his side, seeing a young woman there and a child, so it seemed. A smile creased his lips as he chuckled. “Hey there” he smirked then sat up and ruffled his hairs some knocking some of the sand off then stretched his arms over his head and groaned. “ah man I needed that” he rubbed his shoulder and then cracked his neck, with a successful crack he moaned pleasantly and then let out a yawn stretching his arms in front of him one more time looking out over the lake the strange man then looked back upon the girl and child. “Good Morning” he smiled innocently.
She would most likely think he was a nut spending the night on the ground here of all places? He scratched the back of his neck yawning once more then sat up on his knees sitting on his feet/boots. “ah so how are we this fine morning?” he asked looking towards them then smiled goofily at the kid, and stuck his tung out and made goofy faces , the type to make the kid laugh, hopefully not scare him to death. Luke was fairly good with kids. “let me guess you wake sissy up early didn’t you?” he chuckled, he didn’t think that the girl was the kid’s mother so it was just a guess.
He thought for a moment Luke was relaxed, and not many people could cramp his ‘style’ and if they didn’t like it they could go somewhere else. But he was trying to be friendly. The Blacksmith didn’t really have anything better to do. He looked up at the stars slowly starting to fade. “best time to get up and watch the sunrise..” he pointed out. “hmm” he hugged his knees sitting back on his butt again. “watching it from right here, he held his hands out and made a box with his pointer and thumb fingers holding it out in front of him. “the best spot, when the sun peeks over that horizon, it reflects in the water too as if two are rising.” he rubbed his arms knocking some more sand off then smirked and patted the ground if they wanted to sit, he’d already cleared a medium sized area of debris.

“Morning.” Lettie said, more relaxed now she was satisfied that he wasn’t some sort of violent mad man. She figured he probably was a little bit mad, though, to willingly sleep out here, especially when by the looks of him he could have a room at an inn somewhere. But at least he wasn’t about to attack them because the voices told him to. This might sound hyper vigilant, but Lettie had learned that assuming the worst until proven wrong can save your life.
She grinned, unashamed of her bad teeth, at his playfulness with Theo. Theo giggling and squirmed in babyish embarrassment. Then he used his Shadow-born gift and turned invisible, which he was apt to do when excited. Think of it as like other kids his age hiding behind their mother’s skirts, except considerably better at concealing said child.
“Theo!” Lettie said irritatedly, slapping the empty space where the boy had been, who promptly reappeared with a triumphant grin on his round face. “You do that again you can’t come along next time we go shopping.” This sounded like no proper threat for a small child, but ‘going shopping’ was a euphemism for ‘Theo acts as a distraction while Lettie pockets the merchandise.’ Needless to say, he enjoyed an excuse to run riot in a public place.
Lettie was aware she sometimes sounded more like Theo’s mother than his sister, and she’d heard plenty people mutter ‘She started young’ when she was out and about with him. They generally got a curse-filled mouthful for their cynicism.
She sat down next to the strange man, sitting Theo between her knees like a human armchair. “Actually it was a rat woke us both up. Size of my forearm, it was.” She held out her arm to demonstrate. “But it is nice about now. Rumare’s good to look at, even if it’s sh*t to swim in with all the slaughterfish.”
“By the way,” she added, pointing to the Waterfront “you don’t look like a beggar to me, but there’s bedrolls if you wanna sleep outside. Most of ‘em’s got bugs, but at least you won’t get cold.”

Luke chuckled watching the child then blinked as he vanished, taken off guard at first before realization finely kicked in he just laughed, cute kid and girl, the girl kind of reminded him of someone he knew….a long time ago. He scratched his head and smirked. “I bet he is a handful, am I right?” he paused watching her sit and looked back out over the lake relaxed as anyone could be really it seemed he didn’t have acare in the world.
Eyes drew back upon the younger girl as she spoke of a rat waking them. He blinked wondering if that happened….regularly? “wow huge fella hum?” he nodded “those can be a pain in the butt” he nodded then smiled looking back out at the lake again. “sure is.” he closed his eyes inhaling a deep breath. Then something she said made Luke laugh he poked himself. “begger?” he smirked “no not hardly least not yet” he smirked and gave a light groan as he stretched again. “bug in a bedroll, that sounds heavenly.” he blinked at her looking her over once more this time, he meant that as a joke but could tell this girl most likely didn’t even have a well suited place to life. Then something occurred to him, and sparked a small smile.
“I am a black smith, and handy man.” he stated. “I cant really do much about the slaughter fish I ‘dunt think, but I’ve come down here to help out with some of the work on the housing.” he stated glancing toward the houses a bit further away. “I grew up a farm boy, there is only so much city I could take for one day, so I came out here” he folded his arms behind his head. Then he spoke up again. “so, if you don’t mind showing me around, I can get to work, I cant really build a new house or anything, bit I can fix most current problems. Maybe make it where the rats don’t bother ya” he stated with a friendly smile. Of course he was lying, not about being able to help them, but no one sent him out here to help them. He just figured why not, help someone else a bit less fortunate for once, right? What’s the worse that could happen!

“Gods yeah,” she said, idle of whether or not Theo was listening, “and his dad’s a Nord. He’s gonna be bloody enormous.” Though she didn’t express it, she knew the more he grew the more food he’d need. But she’d cross that bridge when she came to it. She hugged him to her chest, because for all her griping about him, she loved her little half-brother to bits.
She grimaced at the thought of the rat. “I hate those little fetchers. Don’t get me wrong, I can kill them, and you can sell the meat for a good bit. But some of ‘em could eat him,” she pointed to Theo, “alive.” She shivered slightly.
Her unease receded quickly though. “Heavenly?” She wondered momentarily if Shady Sam had persuaded him to try some skooma. But she’d seen folks on the stuff, they didn’t loll around on beaches. They literally bounced off the walls.
She grinned, though a little incredulously at his promise to help fix the houses. She didn’t really believe he’d actually been sent to help rebuild, unless the Elder Council had suddenly ceased to think of the Waterfront as a place to shift the dregs to. But if he was offering, she couldn’t give a d**n about whether or not it was official.
“You know, I reckon if you could fix the houses round here you’d be the f*cking hero of the Waterfront.”

Luther seemed to space out then paused as she said he’d be a ’hero’ he snorted and screwed up his face. “perhaps they would make me their god” he gave in and let out a loud laugh and flopped back on his back and chuckled deeply and then gave way to a deep sigh with a crooked smile still. “a hero, hum? didn’t really think about that, suppose I don’t need a bunch of crazy fans, and then it would spread, the madness, people fallowing me around and calling me ‘Sir’ god knows what else.” he sat back up and nodded and pumped a fist into the air. “bah I think I’d rather remain as ‘Luke’ or ‘Hey you guy over there!’ or more often, ‘hey *** who do you think you are!?’ I mean with a face as pretty as mine, I’m lucky to be as free as I am.” he chuckled and gave her a goofy grin. He was teasing naturally. “hmm I think I can sacrifice it though, maybe I’ll wear a mask while I work.” he put his hands over his eyes then turned toward Theo , pulling his hands away he made a goofy face at him then put them back and made another. Before quitting and laughing he leaned back on his hands as he sun started to peek over the horizon.
“hmm unless you want to knock me off a roof or beat me over the head with a board, then you really cant do anything to stop me, can you?” he razed a brow chuckling and testing her. He then smirked and looked back upon the sunset and inhaled deeply and relaxed.
