It was a bright morning, sun glittering over the watery abyss, known as Lake Rumare, around the Imperial City. Someone had headed out early, this morning and was standing off one of the banks of the river. A young wizard, possibly elf mix he even wore the right hat for his magic. Naturally he’d already become talk of the city. Though he’d not really heard the rumors himself, yet.
“alright…now.” he sucked in a deep breath and prodded toward the watery surface. “Water walking!” he half shouted and took a step careful out onto the river, and he stayed above the water! He took a few careful steps out, when all seemed stable, he suddenly dropped down with a splash. He dragged himself out, and growled standing up he rung his hat out and turned back to the water kicking at it then waved his hand out again casting the same spell, he then ran out into the water. “it worked!” he cheered running about laughing, and then yet again…SPLASH!
This time he wasn’t able to get back to shore. He shouted waving his arms up choking on water as the current started to pull him away. “HELP!” he cried and head went back under water, he came up gagging and gasping. And repeated. His hat also floating away.

Aegnor was walking around lack rumare looking for clams int he shallow sections of the water. reason being one they reminded him of home slightly, two they technically could be used as alchemy ingredients well anywhere else. anyway he had a feeling they were too hard in cyrodiil for any good potion making. Aegnor himself was dressed in only coarse lined pants the pants were rolled up to the knees, and his hair was down. he was carrying a small basket around with him as he walked around the island. he was about to pilferer threw more clams when he herd a splash and a cry for help.
he ran around the bend and saw the cause of the noise it was what looked like a a young mage. he dropped the basket and dove int he water casting water breathing on himself. reaching for the young mage and as he touched his hand cast water breathing on the mage. hoping it would calm the young man.

Klarth found himself growing tired, before to long though he heard another splash in the distance, that didn’t sound like one of his own. He then saw someone right upon him, at first the thought of slaughter fish ran though his brain making him jerk at first then the man touched him?
Gasping he reached toward him. “hey!” he stated then felt his head go under again, though this time he didn’t start gagging up water and realized there was a spell on him, did this Altmer do it? He blinked knowing he wouldn’t drown down he seemed to stop panicking so bad but still struggled to stay above water a little bit, he didn’t want to sink and the spell run off. Ha gasped and looked to the elf big thankful eyes. “I-” he started then pulled himself up again. “I cant swim..” he frowned cheeks flushing some.

Aegnor was relieved that the young man calmed down enough to speak to him underwater. Aegnor hismelf could swim and he taught... he didn't' want to take a trip down memory lane at the moment. he nodded to the man. "alright don't mind if i pull..." Aegnor said his voice warbled in the water, distorted.
Aegnor tugged the man to the shallow parts of the lake. and helped him to the shore.

Klarth nodded swiftly and let Aegnor drag him back to the shore. Thank goodness Aegnor was there! Klarth stood on his hands and knees a moment before standing and leaning with his hands on his knees and panted. “A-ah…I thought I was a goner!” he gasped and shivered some, that just out of cold water feeling. “thank you…you saved my sir.” he stated looking up and toward him. “may I ask your name?” he panted and then stood and rung out his shirt and hair then looked around for his hat and huffed looking out onto the lake were it remained floating down stream. “what…a day.” he sighed.

Aegnor looked down at himself he was soaked and it wasn't like he had any other clothing. he sighed but noticed the look on the young man's face as he watched the hat float in the water.
"my name is Aegnor Telperiën" Aegnor said as he pondered. he was still close enough, he held out his hand and a spell of a pale pale pinkish purple flew from his fingers. it touched the hat, and Aegnor dragged the hat back towards him with a slow flick of his hand like he was directing the hat to come back. Aegnor let the hat hover in front of the young man. before the Altmer asked "may i ask yours?" he said with a raised eyebrow.

Klath watched Aegnor why he continued to try and dry off but it seemed hopeless. He then paused looking up at Aegnor retrieve his hat!? “uhg.” he gasped wide eyed then blinked trying not to look to amazed before the hat was now floating in front of him. He blinked and took it ringing out the water. “thanks!” he bowed.
“Oh I’m Klarth Lester, thank you so much you saved my life Mr. Telperiën! Ah and my hat!” he giggled some then looked away looking a little flustered. “I….guess I was doing something stupid.” he sighed then turned back to Aegnor. “but your magic! Wow it was so amazing!” he gasped.

Aegnor's eyebrow twitched at the 'mr.' titled the young man gave him. made him feel old... his father was old, at least 1,000 years older than him anyway.
Aegnor shook his head at the kid. "you were practicing, only by practicing can one get better. you were only doing what any good mage would and could do...practice." Aegnor made a dismissive gesture at the complement about his magicka usage. " i have only practiced for a very, very long time." Aegnor stressed his usage of the word very on the second time around. "though next time you want to practice... were practicing water walking? just a guess you were kinda far out on the lake... try to practice on shallow water." Aegnor said as he grabbed his basket that had a few pearls in it... he grabbed one and squeezed it. he sighed they were too hard... he just might need to order a shipment from the isles or Morrowind when he got the chance.

Klarth felt embarrassed, his cheeks flushing some. “I uhm….yea.” he looked away then back to Aegnor. “well I have been studying for 30 years though.” he frowned, for a elf that wasn’t that long though, he was only around 54 or so. “I’m so jealous… your so powerful.” he stated. Then looked back out to the water. “well it was working…till then, and I need that spell to work, because I cant swim.” he growled at himself then looked back to Aegnor and smirked putting his hat on with a flop.
“I just cant get into the Arcane university fast enough!” he sighed shaking his head. “heeeeeeeeey is there anyway you could teach me anything?” he asked walking around him some and looking up at him giggling some, mischievously, he would sure show the mages guild now!

Aegnor raised and eyebrow at the kid, well he wasn't a kid but he acted young and enthusiastic. it was promising to see in a mage, it showed a strength of will... most of the time.
"me teach?" Aegnor thought. personally Aegnor had no love for the guild. at. all. they were to mired up in politics and not the principles of learning. he knew magic that was more or less illegal. he figured that's whey they were so nice to him... that they would eventually get him to join the guild, wrong answer. he wondered what kind of conniption fit they would all have if he did decide to teach the boy. Ocato would just give him a look in the presence of others, but behind closed doors he would laugh his ass off. eh why the heck not he needed something to do.
"alright Klarth? was it. I'll help you... but first what area of magic do you need help on?" but for some strange reason Aegnor was almsot afraid of the answer...

Klarth watched Aegnor as he seemed to be thinking about training him or not. He swayed a little to excited, but truthfully he remained pretty calmly. Finely Aegnor spoke and Klarth smiled. Then nodded. “yay thanks!” he gasped then pushed his wet hair out of his face some. “my best spell is Fire, and Telekinesis. But I’m still in training on the second one, others I know are shock and frost, and absorb magica.” he nodded. “but still kind of weak.” he chuckled then sighed. “oh and no-so-well-water-walking.” he scratched the back of his neck.
“Aer you sure you don’t mind, Sir?” he asked tilting his head some then looked at himself again. “were all wet, you are because of me.” he sighed shaking his head. “but I’m training, I have to get better.” he stated with a nod. “I have to be the best made ever!” he laughed then looked away blushing some. “guess that’s…silly, huh?”

Aegnor paused, that's all the boy knew? hmm this might be a little harder than he thought. though he'd probably think better if he had cloths on, not that he didn't but he was wet. and he felt better practicing magicka in his robes.
"alright i think it would be best to return and get dry clothing. then we can begin?" Aegnor suggested picking up his basket. " and on the way you can tell me which houses of Magicka you are focused in? then i may know where to begin." he said as he thought a moment " i have a room at a inn in the city were would you like to re-meet?"

“huh?” Klarth looked at him a bit stranger then looked away a little flustered at first then sighed relaxing his shoulders. “yea Alright.” he stated eyes drooping a bit. This elf was going to use the first opportunity to escape wasn’t he?! “I just try and focus…on something of each class, is that so bad?” he huffed then rang some more water out of his vest again.
He nodded looking back at Aegnor and folded his arms with a huff. “Alright I’ll meet you there, but witch Inn?” he razed a brow, now feeling like a game of cat and mouse when….well it wasn’t and Klarth seemed to expect to much from the man. One almost wouldn’t blame him if he ran away….

Aegnor pondered for a moment... he forgot were he was staying actually. which made him blanch. "uh all i remember is i am staying at a inn that is by a bridge" ((ooc: weynette inn)) Aegnor scratched the back of his head. " i only go into the city when Romulus or Ocato send me a message as i dislike the city, for various reasons." Aegnor shook his head "come on lets go the inn i will by you a warm meal if you so choose." Aegnor waved the young man on, to follow him towards the road which would take them to waynette inn. "it's never a bad thing to have a varying amount of knowledge in magicka. " he said as he started towards Weye.
((ooc: i am going to do a time-skip for when they get there...)) Aegnor turned to Klarth as they neared the inn "just have a seat and let the proprietress know i am handling your bill, okay?" Aegnor turned and went upstairs to change. he opened the door to his room at the inn. Aegnor sighed as he changed into his cloths. at first he just stood there glad to be out of wet cloths coarse linen pants carry water for a long time and suck when they are soggy. he sat himself down on his bed and pulled his satchel over to him. rummaging threw it to find his clothing. he pulled out a pair of pants and then his red with gold trimmed robe. he remembered when he got them.
Camthalion had bought them for him. they were enchanted to help ward against elemental magicks which his elven race were relatively weak too. he pulled the robe on fastened it and arranged the hood of the robes on his shoulders. thinking of the elf mix made him finger the carved welkyd stone piece that hung around his neck.
Aegnor then walked downstairs into the bar/pub section for food, and hopefully a warm drink. then begin teaching that young mage. Aegnor nodded to himself.

Klarth smirked some scratching his head wondering if maybe he had come on to strong. He simply nodded “alright, thanks” he nodded. Then smiled again and gave a playful salute and fallowed close, but not overly close, behind the Altmer.
--
The younger elf watched Aegnor walk off to change, he nodded another ‘thanks’ before hurrying off to change into something, not really something of choice, it was a rather plain pair of pants and a baggy shirt he had to buy at the in with a little pocket change, and a scroll or two. He met Aegnor back at a table that he leaned on his elbow slightly. They had warm drinks waiting, and a simple yet filling plate of some vegetables and (cooked) Vinson. He set a ring down on the table in front of the other man. Cheeks flushing slightly. “if you can teach me some things, I can pay you with this.” he pointed at the ring, it looked gold, with some kind of stone set in it.
“it has to be worth something.” he muttered and glanced away leaning his chin in his hand and elbow on the table. ‘’ also as thanks, for saving my life too.” he nodded and brushed some hair out of his face.
[sorry short post, might take a few to get going again ^^;]
