Zero blinked looking at Ygg then smiled slightly. “you’ve helped me before as well though” he pointed out truthfully. He then looked between the two who seemed to agree on the same place. The Merchants inn, that was fine with him, he gave a small nod. As they walked Zero’s attention namely focused on Charlotte. As she spoke of the Inn’s owner and the Mage’s guild members. It made him smirk softly and give a light shake of the head, of course he didn’t like drinking and most other obsessions people had, but he also wasn’t one to judge. Wasn’t his place to. But he wasn’t one to agree with some things, drinking was fine, being drunk kind of got to him.
“I find it amusing, I’m sure some of the rules are a bit, strict, but sometimes you just have to deal with them in order to remain in a good view of everyone, I don’t mean not being yourself but….” Zero pondered a moment wondering if what he said sounded right aloud or not, he chuckled and sighed slightly. “and I would make a good preacher.” he said jokingly, namely because he probably sounded like he was preaching, like he knew it all. But at least he was able to admit it, even if he didn’t mean for it to sound whatever way. “though I was teaseling about that….I am wanting to be a priest still” he glanced toward Ygg then lightly stopped and hoped it was Ygg he’d talked to about that before, if not, Zero was starting to seem more insane by the moment….
“a haven for people. Of any religion to come and be safe, of course couldn’t allow any sacrificing for others, but I think it’s the thought that counts?” he chuckled and pushed open the door, they all seemed hot by now, it was funny one never stopped to think about a few tings unless someone pointed them out.

Yggdrasil followed and listened to Charlotte speak about the rules for magistars. That didn’t sound right, unless it was what new arch-mage put into effect. The last one was Ocato he was a little more liberal on things. But then again, all his connections to the mage’s guild were temporary, the rules never really applied to him, Speaking of Ocato. He saw him briefly along with a guard walk threw the market district quickly. Yggdrasil tilted his head in greeting if Ocato ever noticed him. He did, and nodded back though had a surprised look on his face when he saw him, almost like he had seen a ghost…
“was it always like that? I remember fairly well a certain high ranking and some low ranking member’s habits. I know some mages rather well in fact…” thinking of the few he has met from Aegnor to Ocato and to his master the Telvanni wizard. “Though the ones I know really are considered ‘illegal’ mages because of there not belonging to the guild. Only a few belong to the guild.” He said as they entered the Merchants in. “personally though I think if one has the drive and ability then one should be allowed to do things that express themselves.” Yggdrasil wasn’t clear on that line he stayed Vague on purpose, he was a thief. He liberated coin purses for a living. Was trained to be a killer as a child, was half ayleid and had male lovers from time to time. Though none recently… something was coming. Yggdrasil sat down at a table. “Yes I remember your idea Zero, I find if you have the drive and want to accomplish it. Do it. I know someone who can and will help you get started too.” Yggdrasil said and continued in his mind ‘though it might be impossible to get it started as I can’t get a hold of him as easily as I used to be able to when he was just the imperial Battlemage, he was now the high Chancellor. It left a sour taste in his mouth. If he screwed up he would give a bad name to the rest of the elven community, and most people would take it out on the elves blaming all of them and not just the circumstance.
He waited for the bar wench to come over and take there orders, he had a craving for Khajit and Imperial stew with strawberries and blueberries on the side… he doubted they would have such a thing. So he’d stick with some ‘normal’ meat, some fruit and maybe some vegetables?

“Well,” she said in response to Yggdrasil’s question, “a lot of things have changed under Traven. He arrived only a bit after I did, but I gather it was always sort of an unspoken rule that the magistars didn’t like the apprentices drinking. It just got stricter under Traven. Bit like necromancy in a way.”
As they entered the Inn, she raised one eyebrow at Zero saying he’d like to become a priest. “Really?” She didn’t know anyone in the mage’s guild who wanted to. Members who wanted to do something else generally did because they wanted more adventure than staring at books all day, and so usually went off treasure hunting. But a priest? Then again, Zero was right; his disposition seemed to suit that role.
“Do you specialise in restoration, then?” She asked as they sat down. She ordered a crabmeat pie; one of the only good things about the infestation of mud crabs in the surrounding lake was that their meat was readily available. She also ordered a sweet roll. As she ate the pie, she found it difficult to get out of alchemy mode, and found herself trying to detect the different back-ingredients in the meat, the onions, the crust. But she soon settled into just enjoying the food.

Zero listened to the two as they seated and simply gave a nod every once in a while he chucked at Yggdrasil. “perhaps I shall then.” He stated with a light pause before picking up again. “I would love all the help I could get” he chuckled but then shoot his head slightly. “but I am afraid it shall be a bit longer before I can even start making any real plans for construction and what not……..” his face became void of emotion for a short time as he spoke up again. “Due to other things going on in my life.” he nodded and managed a small smile while running his fingers over find edge of his glass.
He smiled at the person tacking their orders, he just wanted some stewed vegetables, potatoes carrots and the like. And thanks to Charlotte’s order he decided he wanted a small side of crabmeat.
He looked toward Charlotte again and gave a polite nod, he didn’t mean to ignore her question but had to place his order a moment ago. “Yes that is defiantly my strong point” he smiled. He wasn’t sure what else he could say. “I know a handful of different other spells, but yet Restoration is defiantly what I am ‘best’ at” he chuckled then thought for a moment to himself as he lifted his glass to take a few small sips. Given his condition that ‘had’ to be his strong point, he was able to use some magic to lessen it but over all…..
He reached up and brushed some hair out of his face with a small smile. “Its nice.” he stated and waved a finger. “to come out on a fine, though hot, day and make a new friend and run into a old one.” he smiled happily.

Yggdrasil listened to the two speak about magicks, it didn't involve his magick schools so honestly he tuned them out. that and he was too busy brooding and pouting all at once, he wanted to eat some flesh. d**n his cannablistic side. he craved to eat the sweet taste of meat from humans/mer with high magicka.
" i think i'll just have some cheese please..." he grumbled as he munched on the cheese.
"would you like anything else?" the bar maid asked before she left. Yggdrasil wanted to say yei want man flesh... but that sounded so wrong... he would go after some bandits later. then make a nice stew he knew varlais would like it too. he was bumbed he wasn't really 'allowed' to bring varlais in with him when he came to trade. he made everyone nervous.
"Zero you'll have to meet Varlais, he is getting to big for me to bring him into town so teh guard asked me to leave him outside the gates." yggdrasil said as he finished his snack.
"so charlotte, what are you in the guild for?" Yggdrasil asked guessing it was partly for alchemy, considering the ingredients she had in her basket.
((oc: sorry for the crappiness at the end i am getting tierd.))

Charlotte smiled and nodded at Zero’s announcement about the day being good, then turned her attention to Yggdrasil. She wasn’t sure, but he seemed a little off, irritated even. But she didn’t want to assume anything, and she guessed he’d tell Zero if anything was up.
She heard him talk of a ‘Varlais’, someone Zero seemed to know already too. She wondered if he was a brother, or just a close friend or working colleague. She opened her mouth to ask more, but then Yggdrasil asked her a question. She smiled, happy to talk about magicka, and her specialty in particular.
“Well, Mysticism mostly. I’m just getting good at telekinesis actually. Look.” She held out her right hand towards a nearby salt shaker, willing the magicka into her palm, teeth grit as she cast the spell. The shaker shifted only slightly at first, then slid about two feet to the right in one moment. “See I can do it, just not very smoothly.”
She picked up her fork again before continuing speaking “I came to Cyrodil because back home – High Rock, if my accent didn’t inform you of that – I was learning spells fine enough, but I didn’t have the magicka to cast them. Over here,” she said between mouthfuls, “I can learn how to build my magicka up effectively.”
Wondering if perhaps she’d talked about herself enough now, she posed Yggdrasil a question: “So are you part of any guild?”

Zero smiled warmly watching his friends chatter and took a few small bites, he thought that getting out of the sun and eating and drinking something would help, it did but he still started to feel a little dizzy. He ignore it and watched the two then blinked amazedly as she moved the salt shaker. “hum!” he smiled and clapped his hands together, only not loud enough to get anyone’s attention if his friends at all. “impressive, very well done!” he nodded praising her but stopped there he didn’t want to embarrass the girl.
He watched her then took another drink hearing her talk about her home, and why she came here, he also glanced over at Ygg from the corner of his eyes before setting the drink down and taking another bite form his meal also feeling a slight irritation from the half bosmer, but didn’t feel that it was anything he or she did. So he didn’t want to be nosey and ask.
He finished most of his meal and closed his eyes as Charlotte asked Yggdrasil what guild he might have been a part off. And gave a faint smile. Opening his eyes he leaned back and just watched them a moment and tried to make up his mind if he was finished with his plate or not while trying to rest as well. he leaned his chin in his hand and arm on the table with a small but somewhat tired smile.
[afraid mine is rather dull/short too ^^; sorrys]

Yggdrasil raised and eyebrow mid bite at the question she asked. he finished the bite of cheese and leaned back. "me to a guild?" yggdrasil chuckled amused " i belong to non. too many problems lie in the guilds. i have been many places in my years meet many people.' he continued '"some kind and some most deffinatly cruel." he sat back straight in his chair there was a slight faash in his eyes as he spoke next. "now that i find guilds to be based on here say to tell those how they must be to do certain things. i find that... disheartening. i come from a place that has a sismple and romantic view on life your guild structures bring me no piece of mind." almost anyone could tell that that was crap, yggdrasil belonged to one of the most nefarious guilds of tamriel. and a unspoken rule was... speak not of your invovlment. well those who knew yggdrasil well knew he was lying threw his teeth.
"but anyway speaking of magicks..." yggdrasil spoke with amused grin "watch this" he looked around the room quick looking for someone and found his target. he cast a pale purple like spell from his fingers. the target a imperial guard.
the imperial guard was walking with a fellow guard when his got stuck and crumbled to the ground. 'by the nine!" "ignacious are you all right?" " i think i trippped but i can't move...wait i can't get up.." ' i think you have been hit with a burdan spell.. a prank obviously..."
Yggdrasil grinned 'that i learned in.." he thought a moment " Morrowind from one of the few nords that don't hate elves." after yggdrasil did the prank he herd a comotion at the door. the guard were trying to shoo a fuzzy critter that looked like a large dog. "by the deadric hearts...' yggdrasil spoke in an elvish a language you don't normally hear. he then reverted back to teh common tounge cyrodillic. 'let the wolf in he is my 'pet'" yggdrasil said over his shoulders to the guards whom then the pup came runnign in with a yip. and almost barelled yggdrasil over with enthusiasim. "well i guess to say both of you get to meet varlais, zero, charlotte this is my 'pet' varlais he is such a good boy.'[ he began scratching the underside of the wolves neck and teh leg began to thump.
((oc; i apologize profusly at teh bad way these post look i am workign a a laptop and it is a sensitive one. i am trying to get eh hang of it... not dong very well i am afraid...))

Charlotte grinned at Zero’s praise. “Thankyou.” She then turned her attention back to Yggdrasil and his talk about guilds. “I suppose guilds can be a little restrictive. And it was such a pain to have to get all my recommendations, especially as I was only fifteen then. But at the end of the day, I can learn things in the guild I never could outside of it.” She continued eating, satisfied at having defended her guild while remaining honest and not just contradicting everything Yggdrasil said.
She looked round as he told them to look at something. She wondered what the spell he was casting was, before recognising it a split second before the guard was affected. She blushed, afraid of causing trouble with the guards, although she had to bite down on the inside of her cheek to stop herself from laughing at the guard’s attempts to stand up. Feeling a little embarrassed for him, she cast a Dispel charm his way; not enough to lift the Burden altogether, as it was clearly a strong spell, but enough so he could hobble out with his friend’s help.
As the guard left, a huge dog, no wait it must be a wolf, came bounding into the room. Hearing Yggdrasil call it ‘Varlais’, she realised who he’d been talking about earlier. It wasn’t a rowdy friend or sibling, it was a pet.
“Oh that’s Varlais!” she said a little louder than she’d meant to, so she added “Sorry, I was wondering before.”

Zero’s eyes turned back to the mage when she spoke of recommendations, ah yes, those were the tiresome days, he didn’t really have anything better to do or course, but it seemed to take him a little longer, traveling along, being not one overly interested in battle, it took him a while to get around because of …that other thing, as well. He simply nodded and gave a light sigh. “ah I know what you mean” he smiled faintly.
He turned his eyes upon Ygg nect and giggled some lightly to himself but kept his mouth closed watching the half Bosmer and gave a faint sigh. “up to no good as always” he smiled then paused blinking, soon enough there was a large dog in the room. “oh” he blinked then looked back at his old friend again then at the--correction, wolf and smiled. “ Well hello there, what a big boy you are” he nodded and gently held out a piece of stewed potato he had left on his plate wondering if he would care for it or not.
[sorry guys about all I have in me right now TT.TT;]

Yggdrasil smiled at Zero with a chuckle, “yes up to no good. But hey who said being good was any fun?” Yggdrasil smiled while he rubbed Varlais behind his ears. “Misbehaving helped me find him. And save him.” He then watched Varlais wag his tail as he gently took the piece of offered potato from Zero. Not really caring that Charlotte dispelled some of the burden and the paralysis was gone from the spell, he wished he could figure out how to make it last longer. He was a master at illusion already, but any further research would require him to become a mage’s guild member… and honestly wouldn’t be a good idea for him. He just might be found out, and honestly he didn’t like that idea one bit. “You won him over Zero, he loves to eat.” he said as he leaned forward and put his chin on his hand. Yggdrasil suppressed a yawn he was tired. The day was long, but he wanted to get things done before he left. That and he was curious and curiosity never really helped him out all that much.
“So I know there are some, magister’s who study specific things besides there magic schools do either of you have other interest?” Yggdrasil had always wanted to ask Zero but he never brought it up and he figured now if a good time. He liked to know things, about people. And Varlais made him more comfortable to stay in the city as he felt bad leaving him out there.

Charlotte finished off her pie, giving the barman a smile to compliment the dish, and started eating her sweet roll as she listened to Yggdrasil and Zero talk about Varlais and getting in trouble. It was clear they had a lot of history together.
She’d sat in on a lecture about the differences between friendship in mers and humans. It hadn’t been particularly important to her studies, but Charlotte made it a habit of going to every lecture she could while still having time to eat and sleep. It had been interesting, though, how dynamics change just because of the long lifetime. Mers like these two could have friendships of 80 years or more, while still interacting like relatively young people.
She was just finishing her sweet roll as Yggdrasil asked her a question. She thought about it for a second. “Well, I study Alteration too. I really study that about as hard as I study Mysticism, I just find Mysticism comes easier to me. But I try and have a variety of schools. I mean, I’m not about to pick up a sword, so Destruction is good to know just in case. As for other interests...” Now she came to think of it, she didn’t have many hobbies other than her studies. Well, except for... “Reading.” She concluded with a slight chuckle. “Oh, and magical stones. You know, soul gems, Welkynd stones, stuff like that.”
“Actually, have you heard the rumours of the, oh hang on, oh yes, the ‘sigil stone’? I heard whoever closed the gate at Kvatch came out holding a stone with some sort of magical properties” She hoped upon hope it would get sent to the Arcane University for one of the experts in daedric artefacts to look at.
As she waited for their answers, she ordered another sweet roll. Gods knew she ate far too many of the things than could be healthy, but she loved them.

Zero just smiled and pet the Wolf as he listened to the other two talking about, interests now. He thought a bout it, other then the guild, what did he spend all his time doing? Other then random things for random people just being a helpful spirited person, but that wasn’t really a hobby, now was it?
“well……” he thought for a moment after she finished speaking. “stones are interesting” he smiled with a nod, you never know what you have without more study.” he agreed then paused. ‘I read, pray at the temples when in the different cities” he paused thinking again. “I enjoy trimming the plants in the garden…” he paused trying to drag a hobby up to his mind, why couldn’t he think of any!? He chuckled. “amongst other things, who doesn’t enjoy curling up with a good book, for study or a piece of fiction.” he pointed out with a sweet smile. Then gave the wolf another piece of food then drew a finger to his lips and whispered. “Shhh” he told the pet.
He paused again closing his eyes he leaned on his hands, chin in his palms and fingers running each side of his cheeks. The light in his eyes flickered almost dead for a moment. He sucked in deeply and closed his eyes again. He wasn’t feeling good anymore, just all of a sudden he could feel up for anything and now, well that was how quickly it changed, of course he just took a deep breath and gave a warm smile reaching for his glass and taking a few drinks, before setting it back down. “what about yourself Ygg?” he smiled with a light nod.

yggdrasil finished his cheese off while he listened to the other two. he wondered if he worded his question wrong? but alas he didn't want to sound like a arse but who knows maybe they hadn't been given anything else besides studies just yet.
"me? my hobbies, well i do enjoy collecting things." he pondered for a moment. " thought i do love to study greatly i am mostly interested in the ancient kingdoms." he wouldn't specify he didn't want to. "i herd there are some mages that dedicate there time studying the ruins of cyrodiil the ayleid kingdom?"
"history is something entertaining and one can learn from it i suppose." Yggdrasil said with a shrug. " but i am a bard by trade and so a thing i do like to do is play on my instruments." yggdrasil said while fingering the stone goblet at the table the barmaid left, them.
Varlais sat with a content expression on his face while zero paid him attention. and then nuzzled the elf's hand while he seemed down for a moment.

((No worries )) Charlotte smiled and nodded as Ygg spoke of his music. She had been wondering what his job was; in her opinion he didn't seem meat-headed enough to be Fighters' Guild, so it didn't surprise her that he was a bard. Herself, she could never sing, or play any instrument well. She guessed that saying about magic and music not mixing was true. Picking up on where Ygg was trying to lead the conversation, she finished off her sweet roll and answered: "Oh, well the other apprentices and I don¡'t have anything official other than studies, but I'd love to study magical stones. When I was little, I used to go looking for Welkynd stones, until my parents forbid me. Bandits tend to hang around in old ruins," she explained. She knew over the next few years she'd have to work hard establishing herself as a researcher, convincing the right people to let her study the limited Ayleid ruins available, especially as she was so much younger than most apprentices. To be honest, the entire idea daunted and irritated her; she knew she was good enough, why did she always have to prove it? Despite the methodicality she'd managed to grow from being at the university, in her heart Charlotte wasn't a particularly patient person. Then again, if she'd been more patient, she'd probably still be in High Rock learning spells off passing mages.
